Maybe we don’t have the time to go on a trip around the world. We are very busy, after all. There might not be time to travel around the world. Thanks to the internet, there is a wealth of information at our fingertips. We can travel a thousand miles away without leaving our home. While it might be as good at the real thing, it can be the second best thing. This would be the best option of you are itching to see something new but don’t have the time to travel.
Taste exotic foods.
Even if you are not an expert on all things food, why not go to the local supermarket and pick out something you have never tried before. It can be something as simple as a mango, papaya, or any other fruit that is not grown locally. Find a recipe online for something new and exciting, be bold and adventurous! Try a specialty store that specializes on a particular culture and go wild!
Listen to music you normally don’t listen to.
I know we all have our favorites, the music that we are familiar, but why not try something outside our norm? I have listen to Italian Opera, and I don’t understand what they are saying but it is beautiful. Listen to some tango, or a different language song. You would be surprised how much of a difference this can make.
Learn a dance move
Don’t know how to dance, or don’t dance? (I don’t, so don’t worry!) It’s always good to push out of our comfort zones and learn something new. Invite a friend! If you are an avid dancer, try something you have never done before, salsa perhaps? Learn a different culture’s dance. Any little change can help.
What is your favorite thing to try out?
Can you take a leap into the unknown and try new things?
Pablo Picasso, Caravaggio, Michelangelo, these are a few that have made a large impact in my life. They are one of the masters in the world of art. Their paintings left a huge impact, and they are still talked about to this day. They have touched and inspired many, I know they inspired me. I want to talk a little about what impact they can have on our lives.
Art is amazing, it can add so much value to your life.
What is your favorite part about art?
What is your favorite piece from the masters?
There are times in our lives were we feel like we are missing something. I know when I started creating art at a young age, it was my method of escaping. It eventually turned into something more. I started to see the real beauty and joy art could bring me. I did several high school shows and the positive feedback I got from others was very encouraging. There will always be someone out there with negative feedback, it’s best to take it in stride and move along.
I love color, (I’m sure that is evident in some of my paintings). This series may have been inspired by an outer space show the hubby and I were watching. I do also like to look at all the pretty images from space. I mean, who thought that our universe could be so beautiful? Then I took it a step farther inspired by my favorite space movie is Interstellar.
That movie was all sorts of creative and amazing. I love all sorts of space movies, but they obviously have to be done right. Every time I create a piece for the Interdimensional Series, I look at the canvas and think, “Where will this take me today?”
“What would it look like if I jump through this portal right now?” (Not literally of course, ha-ha.)
I can imagine that space is a wonderful place, look at the sheer beauty of it? I can get lose track of time looking at space pictures, and why not create the same thing with my paintings? I sought to create a place to get lost a beautiful place. One that knows no bounds, to time frames, or any limitations that we are used to imposing on ourselves.
Can you imagine, if you could just float in space what it would be like?
What is your favorite thing about space?
Best of all, if you haven’t watched Interstellar, I highly recommend that you do so.
In 1666, Sir Isaac Newton discovered that when pure light passes through a prism, it separates it into all the visible colors.
There were further experiments that showed that light could be combined to create different colors.
Color has Psychological effects
Color is a powerful force in our lives. It has effects in our bodies and in our minds. Perceptions of some colors are somewhat subjective, however there are some colors that have universal meanings. Our home is our sanctuary, it is where we feel loved, safe, and comfort. Colors have a huge play into how we feel in our home.
Warm colors, such as those in the family of reds. They can invoke feelings of comfort, warmth, and love. On the other end, they can also invoke feelings of anger and hostility. It all depends on your current life experiences, it would dictate how you see each color. It would be best to have warm paintings in rooms that you seek comfort.
Cool colors are those in the blue side of the spectrum. They can sooth, but also depending on how you are feeling can cause sadness or indifference.
Colors can mean different things to each individual.
What do they mean to you?
What do you feel about these three colors?
